We got the recall notice on Mrs. Wagon’s 2010 Fit today. Her parents, who we recommended the Fit to, got theirs as well.
There is an interesting line in the notice. It says parts for the shrapnel spraying lifesaving device won’t be available until the Summer. But I assume there are plenty for new vehicles.
It also says that alternate transportation or reimbursement for alt Transportation may be available. Anyone know about this? Will Honda loan us a car until it can change the airbags? Because I think I would be OK with that.

I got a recall for my 03 Odyssey that got taken care of last week. This was the second air bag recall on this vehicle. Not sure why they don't have the part for yours. Have you called the dealership to ask about it?

I have not received the official recall for my 09 Fit, but the VIN was on the Honda recall site. There is a good sized discussion going on at the fit freak forums ( www.fitfreak.net ) about getting a rental from the dealer. If you do get a loaner /rental, you will have to sign off that you will not drive your Fit except to take it to the dealer when the replacement parts come in.
